About this coffee
A coffee that highlights the balance between a classic varietal and carefully controlled processing.
In the cup, Buena Vista offers a clean, round profile in which notes of passion fruit and apricot are supported by a warm base of brown spice. The fruit is present but well integrated — it doesn’t dominate, but rather completes the coffee’s natural sweetness. The result is a balanced espresso, with clarity and a pleasant, lightly spiced finish.
The lot comes from Buena Vista, a tablón (plot) within the El Molino farm, located at altitudes between 1400 and 1700 meters, in the Santa Ana region of El Salvador. The farm is part of the Salaverria family’s operations, sixth-generation producers who have built a well-structured system over time for separating lots by altitude, potential, and growing conditions.
The coffee is naturally processed: the cherries are hand-picked, selected at optimal ripeness, and dried on patios. This approach allows clear fruity notes to develop while preserving the structure characteristic of Bourbon.
An important element of the Salaverria family’s approach is the attention paid to soil health and plant resilience. In the context of the challenges posed by leaf rust in El Salvador, they have invested in regenerating the soil using locally produced organic fertilizers, combining traditional methods with modern interventions to maintain consistency and quality in production.
Buena Vista is, in essence, a modern interpretation of a Bourbon from El Salvador: a balanced coffee with clear sweetness, structure, and a subtle layer of fruit.
