About this coffee
Located in the Hambella district in the Guji zone, at an altitude between 2,095 and 2,122 meters, the washing station Beku Abel collects ripe cherries from smallholder farmers who grow traditional Ethiopian varieties — Kumie, Diga, and Wilsho, part of the vast genetic heritage known as Ethiopian Landrace.
After a careful selection of the cherries, they are pulped and naturally fermented for 48 hours, then washed with clean water and left to sun-dry on raised beds until reaching a moisture content of approximately 11.5%.
The result is a coffee that expresses the clarity and refinement typical of Guji washed coffees — with bright floral and citrus notes, a fine, tea-like texture, and a a clean, sweet, and elegant aftertaste. In the cup you’ll find jasmine, bergamot, honey, and lemon zest, supported by a lively, balanced acidity.
